First Friday of Frustration

Ok, on occasion the male spousal unit gets to leave work early because of a certain sales goal met, earned time off, etc... and I get to go along for the ride because we are soooooo eco-concious that we carpool (um, no... we only have one vehicle that's road-worthy). So... we get home shortly after noon, and I have grand plans of trying to find some local caches... I mean after all, there are so many so close to home, how hard could it be, right? I have to say that I was overconfident and underskilled as a result of my first find, which was super easy for me... and thus the First Friday of Frustration commenced. Went 0 for 4, ending the day still at a total of 1 find.... pitiful

Ok, even though previous posts indicate that the log @ the cache site was likely missing, this one is so close to home I had to try - to no avail. I'm going to have to travel back over there again to really think about what the 'Stick to It' means, log or no log.

Barry Platte Park (by SunshineWalker) - GCY6X4
This was my second DNF today - and leading me to believe I clearly am not good at this... this was supposed to be an easy one. The neighborhood dogs seemed to be telling me I was clueless, literally, as I could not even locate stage one. Seems the park bench that may have been part of the first stage is being replaced?

Line Creek (by flintknapper) - GC1618
DNF #3 for the day... although had I been a bit more prepared (waterproof hiking boots are on the shopping list) and braver I may have made it to this one. I've passed by this park many times, but never stopped... it was very nice, peaceful - interesting Native American Indian area near the far southern end of the park (please don't disturb anything). However, I attempted to ford the creek, without luck, too chicken mostly (alone, still recovering from a broken ankle a couple of months ago - unsure of my surroundings). Anywho... very nice park - hope to make it to the promised land another day.

Oakwood Forest (by KaiserKlan) - GCNRP9
Fourth and final DNF for the day - but a very interesting walk through the woods. Surely the neighbors around here are immune to seeing people scattering about down in the sticks? Found a couple of places where it is clear that either kids are building forts, or sadly, perhaps even homeless have spent a night or two - one location looked rather lived in.
I clearly did not find 'the easy way in' the others have spoken about - but I'll still keep this one in mind on another day when I've found my confidence again.
